# Order types

> Market, limit, and trigger orders on Monofin — plus take profit and stop loss on every position.

Monofin supports the order types you need to enter precisely and exit safely — on perps and event markets alike.

## Market orders

**Execute immediately** at the best available price. Use a market order when getting in matters more than the exact price.

The ticket shows estimated slippage before you confirm, so a fast market never means a blind one.

## Limit orders

**Execute only at your price or better.** You set the price; the order rests on the book until the market comes to you or you cancel.

Use limit orders to:

* Enter on a pullback instead of chasing
* Buy YES shares below the current ask and let the crowd come to you
* Avoid slippage on thin books

## Trigger (stop) orders

**Fire only when a price level is hit.** A trigger order watches the market and submits a market or limit order when your stop price trades. Use it to protect a position or to enter on a breakout without staring at the chart.

## Take profit and stop loss

TP/SL attach directly to an open position:

* Set them at entry or add them later
* They apply to the **whole position** and cancel automatically when it closes
* Edit or remove them anytime from the position card

> [!TIP]
>
> The habit that separates traders from donors: decide your exit before you enter. Attach TP/SL at entry and let the plan do the work.

## Good to know

* Open orders are visible in **Portfolio → Orders**, and cancellable in one tap.
* Orders on event markets work the same way — a limit order to buy YES at 40¢ fills when someone sells at 40¢.
* All order types show itemized fees before confirmation. See [Fees](/trading/fees).
