# Fees

> What Monofin charges — itemized on every ticket, in dollars, before you confirm.

No hidden fees, no fine print. Every cost on Monofin is itemized on the order ticket **before** you confirm, in dollars.

## Trading fees

| Market type | What you pay |
| - | - |
| **Perpetuals** | The venue's base trading fee plus a small Monofin builder fee on each fill |
| **Event markets** | A trading fee on each fill, shown on the ticket |
| **Real-world assets** | Venue fee plus builder fee, same structure as perps |

Monofin's builder fee is how the app makes money — it's a small percentage of each trade, competitive with other frontends on the same venues, and it's always shown as a separate line on your ticket.

## Funding is not a fee

On perps, **funding payments** move between longs and shorts to keep prices anchored to the underlying market. Depending on the rate, you pay funding or receive it. It's a market mechanism, not revenue to Monofin. See [Leverage, funding, and liquidations](/trading/leverage-funding-liquidations).

## No fees on

* **Deposits and withdrawals** — Monofin charges nothing to move money in or out (network gas fees and on-ramp provider fees may apply and are shown before you confirm)
* **Holding a balance** — no account fees, no inactivity fees
* **Earn deposits** — Earn vaults have their own curator fee structure, disclosed on each vault's page

## Pay less with referrals

Join with a friend's referral code and you get **10% off eligible Monofin fees**. Refer friends yourself and earn **25% of the trading fees they generate — for life**. See [Referrals](/social/referrals).
