# Profiles and feed

> Usernames, public profiles, a live trade feed, and shareable PnL cards — the social layer of Monofin.

Monofin is a trading app with a social pulse. Your handle is your identity, your profile is your track record, and your feed is the market's group chat — with receipts.

## Usernames and profiles

At onboarding you pick a **username** — your public handle across the app: leaderboard, feed, chat, and trade links. You can optionally connect your **X handle** to bring your existing identity and credibility with you.

Your public profile shows your positions, PnL, and trading history. Add an avatar and you're a person, not a wallet address.

## The feed

Follow traders and your feed fills with their moves:

* **Entries and exits** as they happen, with the market and price
* **Theses** — when a trader attaches their reasoning, you see the *why*, not just the *what*
* **Filter by asset** to cut the noise

The feed is where conviction is public. Someone you respect just bought NO at 70¢ on the market everyone's bullish on? That's signal you can't get from a chart.

## Share your PnL

Generate **shareable trade cards** for any position or result — the chart, the fills, the PnL, rendered for social. Your referral code is built into every card, so your victory laps recruit for you. See [Referrals](/social/referrals).

## Trade links

Share a **prefilled trade setup** with anyone: the market, the side, the sizing logic. They open the link, review it in their own account, and confirm or pass. Ideas travel; execution stays personal.

## Privacy controls

Positions are public by default — that's what makes the leaderboard and feed meaningful. If you'd rather trade quietly, adjust visibility in **Settings → Profile**. Your balances are never public, regardless of setting.
