# FAQ

> Fast answers: custody, fees, minimums, availability, and how Monofin makes money.

> **Is Monofin custodial?**
>
> No. Your funds live in an embedded wallet only you control (powered by Privy). Every trade and transfer is signed from your wallet, and Monofin never holds your assets. You can withdraw everything, anytime. See [Wallet and security](/account/wallet-and-security).

> **What can I trade?**
>
> Three kinds of markets behind one USDC balance: **event markets** (YES/NO outcomes on politics, sports, crypto, macro, culture), **crypto perpetuals** (long/short with leverage), and **real-world assets** (stocks, commodities, indices, FX). See [Markets](/markets/overview).

> **How do event markets work?**
>
> Each outcome trades as a share priced between $0 and $1 — the price is the probability. If your outcome happens, shares pay $1; if not, $0. Sell anytime before resolution to lock in a gain or cut a loss. You can never lose more than you paid. See [Event markets](/markets/event-markets).

> **What are the fees?**
>
> Trading fees are itemized on every ticket before you confirm — venue fee plus a small Monofin builder fee. No deposit, withdrawal, or account fees. Referral codes cut eligible fees by 10%. See [Fees](/trading/fees).

> **How does Monofin make money?**
>
> A small builder fee on trades, a disclosed share of yield on Earn vaults, and that's it. We don't custody your funds, trade against you, or sell your order flow.

> **Is Monofin available in the US?**
>
> Not at initial launch — the perps liquidity layer geoblocks US users. A US product on regulated prediction-market rails is on the roadmap. See [Availability](/account/availability).

> **What's the minimum trade?**
>
> Minimums are deliberately small so you can test a thesis before scaling it. The exact minimum is shown on the ticket for each market.

> **Can I lose more than I deposit?**
>
> On event markets, no — the most you can lose is what you paid for shares. On leveraged perps, a position can be liquidated and you lose that position's margin, but you cannot lose more than the balance in your account. See [Leverage, funding, and liquidations](/trading/leverage-funding-liquidations).

> **Is Earn yield guaranteed?**
>
> Never. Yields are variable and indicative, generated by independent DeFi protocols. Deposits are not insured and losses are possible in every tier. See [What is Monofin Earn?](/earn/what-is-monofin-earn).

> **How do referrals work?**
>
> Share your code: friends get 10% off eligible fees, you earn 25% of the trading fees they generate — for life. Track it all in the referral center. See [Referrals](/social/referrals).

> **How do I get help?**
>
> Email **[support@monofin.xyz](mailto:support@monofin.xyz)** from your account email. For chat issues, use in-app report — human review within 24 hours.
