# Wallet and security

> Non-custodial by architecture: your Monofin wallet, how it's secured, and how to protect your account.

Monofin is **non-custodial**. That's not a policy — it's the architecture. Your funds live in a wallet only you control, and Monofin never holds your assets.

## Your embedded wallet

When you sign up with **email, Apple, or Google**, an embedded wallet is created for you — powered by Privy, the wallet infrastructure trusted across the industry. There's no seed phrase to write down and no browser extension to install.

* **Only you can sign.** Every trade, deposit, and withdrawal is signed from your wallet. Monofin can't move your funds — the keys aren't ours to use.
* **Your balance is yours.** You can withdraw everything, anytime, to any address you control — even if you never open the app again.

## Securing your account

* **Biometric app lock** — Face ID on iOS, biometrics on Android, so a borrowed phone isn't a borrowed wallet
* **Sign-in security** — your account is tied to your email or Apple/Google identity; enable two-factor on that account for an extra layer
* **Push alerts** — get notified on fills, liquidations, and account activity, so nothing happens silently

## The rules nobody can bend

> [!WARNING]
>
> * **Monofin will never ask for your password, recovery credentials, or a "verification deposit."** Not in chat, not by email, not by DM. Anyone who does is a scammer — report and block.
> * **Chat is for talk, not advice.** Moderators are badged; impersonators are not. See [Chat](/social/chat).
> * **Double-check withdrawal addresses.** Crypto transfers are final. Verify the address and network before confirming.

## If something looks wrong

Contact **[support@monofin.xyz](mailto:support@monofin.xyz)** from the email tied to your account. For chat safety issues, use in-app report — it goes to a human moderation queue with a 24-hour review SLA.
