# Quickstart

> Go from sign-up to your first trade on Monofin in about five minutes.

This guide takes you from zero to your first trade on Monofin in about five minutes.

## 1. Create your account

Open the Monofin web app or install the iOS or Android app, and sign up with **email, Apple, or Google**. Your embedded wallet is created for you in the background — no seed phrase, no browser extension.

> During sign-up you'll confirm your jurisdiction. Monofin shows you only the markets available where you live — some categories, like sports event markets, are restricted in certain regions. See [Availability](/account/availability).

## 2. Fund your account

Tap **Deposit**. You can:

* **Send USDC** from any supported chain — arrives in minutes.
* **Buy with a card or bank transfer** through the in-app on-ramp.

One balance powers everything: event markets, perps, and real-world assets all draw from the same USDC. Details and limits: [Funding your account](/about-monofin/funding-your-account).

## 3. Pick a market

The home board has four tabs: **Perps**, **RWA**, **Events**, and **Watchlist**. Each market card shows one number, one move, one reason — the price (or probability), the 24-hour change, and what resolves it.

Not sure where to start? Open the **Leaderboard**, find a trader with a track record you respect, and look at their open positions.

## 4. Place your trade

Every trade is three choices:

**1. Choose your side**

Event markets: **YES** or **NO**. Perps: **long** or **short**.

**2. Set your size**

Enter how much USDC to put behind the trade. Start small while you learn the platform.

**3. Set your multiplier (perps only)**

Leverage up to the market's maximum. It magnifies losses as well as gains — the ticket shows your estimated liquidation price before you confirm.

Review the ticket — side, size, fees, and risk in plain English — then confirm. Optionally attach a **take profit** and **stop loss** so your exit is automated from the start.

## 5. Make it yours

* **Pick a username.** Your handle is your public identity on the leaderboard and in chat.
* **Star markets** to build your watchlist and get price alerts.
* **Share your referral code** from the referral center — friends get 10% off eligible fees, and you earn 25% of their trading fees for life. See [Referrals](/social/referrals).
